Oct.28/14 My dear Sir By a Ship (the James Hay) just arrived from New South Wales the Directors of the Missionary Society have received an interesting Letter from their Missionaries at Eimeo giving an Accot of several more of the Natives having turned from dumb Idols to the living God also a short Letter from the Rev. Mr Marsden in which he refers to a fuller Communication of the State of Affairs in the South Sea Islands in general which he has sent to you & which as he had not Time to copy he had no doubt you would lend on our requesting it of you. I am desired therefore in the Name of our Directors to beg the favor of that Letter for [f] perusal, particularly as the Committee to whom the Concerns of the Taheitan Mission are confided are requested to meet & report on the request of our Missionaries at Eimeo for a reinforcement of their Number.
