My dear friend
I did not write again because I did not know whether such a person would suit you. I have since waited that Mr Richmond might see him. Mr R gave him a charge & I think convinced him that as a settler in a new Colony he might be as useful as a Bishop, & that a Bishop would not act otherwise than a Settler. He recommended a trial whether he had any gift in learning languages but I do not at present see any good opportunity. His confidence (in my opinion) is too
great for he hesitates at nothing. Parental feelings have thrown some obstacle in his Mother’s way but I hope these are overcome. Mr Bucknuth was absent when he went to Dewsbery. He is willing to go to New Zealand.
