I should have been happy had it been in my power to have gone out without taking any thing from the Funds of the Society but should I do this I should have too little left of my own property to establish myself as a Settler at New South Wales— When I saw you last, I referred you to a former resolution of the Commee committee by which it was proposed that I should have an annual Salary and I thought that provided it was allowed me for three years I should have enough. The Committee will now judge what they think best to do in my behalf. I have only to assure you & the Committee that being allowed what is needful for food and raiment with a sum not exceeding five pounds per annum for charitable purposes I desire and ask for no more. And am Revd & Dear Sir Dutifully & faithfully Yours Tho. Kendall The Revd Josiah Pratt Secretary & ca & ca P.S. In consequence of the long voyage I have been under the necessity of purchasing much more wearing apparel than I should otherwise consider needful yet it will not be lost Hocken Archive Reference Number MS-0498/036 28MB image/tif 6.0 Uncompressed MD5 80ed2f89e14ce6a5fbcbf44502527e65 ACEMC 2886 3480 RGB manuscript Hakena MS-0498/036 205 mm 250 mm 2014:05:02 10:58:23.13 University of Otago Library, Reprographics Unit digital still camera Canon Canon EOS 6D 11.0 1 Manual 0220 1 11.0 6.9 1.4 Multi-segment tungsten flash did not fire 50.0 mm (35 mm equivalent: 72.7 mm) 0 Subject is illuminated from the front side.
