He has nevertheless been very kind indeed to myself and Colleagues and made presents to each family of such articles of comfort as he could spare out of his private stores. Captain Graham of the Catherine, Captain Smith of the Rambler and Captain Swaine of the Indian have also treated us in the same polite and generous manner. You will be happy to hear that the Officers and Crews of the above Ships have conducted themselves towards us and the Natives in a most friendly manner [f] and that we have had parties of Sailors at Divine Service upon the Sabbath Day when the weather would permit.
